Who are we?

The United Nations Society – Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (UNSOC – AUTh) is an independent, non-profit student organization . It was founded in October 2020 by a dynamic group of students and is addressed to the entire student community of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.

The primary areas of focus for UNSOC – AUTh are international relations, diplomacy, and international law. At the same time, our team provides information about the principles, operation, and actions of the United Nations (UN) and actively promotes the institution of Model United Nations (MUN).

Our Actions

MUN Delegations

Our team members prepare on a weekly basis for their participation in MUN conferences in Greece and abroad, thereby gaining a deep understanding of the functions of an international organization.

Academic Activities

UNSOC – AUTh regularly organizes lectures and seminars on topics of international interest, featuring renowned academics, diplomats, and officials from international organizations, as well as career orientation workshops.

Team spirit

Team spirit is a core element of UNSOC – AUTh. For this reason, we frequently organize activities aimed at fostering bonds of friendship among our members, while also creating an environment where they feel safe to express and advocate for their views.

Membership

Regular Members

All students at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, as well as graduates, can apply to become Regular Members of UNSOC – AUTh.

Associate Members

Students and graduates of other recognized academic institutions, both in Greece and abroad, can apply to become Associate Members of UNSOC – AUTh. Associate Members enjoy limited rights, compared to Regular Members, and may not hold office or vote at the General Meeting of the Society.

Application process

If you are interested in joining UNSOC – AUTh and fulfill the criteria of one of the membership types described above, please fill in the application form you will find below. Please note that an applying member must pay the annual membership fee of €10 before their membership is considered confirmed. After the application has been processed, you will receive an email with further instructions concerning the payment.
